Ahead Of The Game Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping youth and families grow through sports, education, mentorship, health, wellness, and leadership development. Through quality coaching, positive role models, and community-based programs, we strive to help every participant become the best version of themselves—both on and off the field of play.

WHAT WE OFFER

Basketball Development

Skill training, camps, clinics, leagues, private instruction, and athletic development designed to help players improve their game and build confidence.

Soccer Development

Fundamental skills training, teamwork, conditioning, and player development programs for youth of all experience levels.

Multi-Sport Programs

Opportunities to participate in basketball, soccer, flag football, and other athletic activities that promote healthy lifestyles and well-rounded development.

Strength & Conditioning

Programs focused on speed, agility, endurance, injury prevention, athletic performance, and long-term health.

Mentorship & Leadership

Life skills, goal setting, confidence building, teamwork, communication, and leadership development that extends beyond sports.

Lester Sanchez Mayo

Founder & Executive Director

Born and raised in San Diego, Lester Sanchez Mayo founded Ahead Of The Game Academy with a vision of using sports as a vehicle to inspire, educate, and empower young people.

As a coach, educator, athlete, entrepreneur, and mentor, Lester has dedicated his life to helping youth overcome obstacles, discover their strengths, and pursue their goals with confidence and purpose.

After overcoming significant personal, academic, and athletic challenges throughout his own journey, Lester developed a passion for serving others and creating opportunities for the next generation.

Today, he continues to lead Ahead Of The Game Academy with a commitment to community impact, youth development, and lifelong learning.
